Why Richmonds of the World?
Mankind is at a crossroads – The
ultimate set of crossroads; crossroads with
implications for every living person on the planet,
every living being, and all of creation to come;
crossroads requiring significant changes in
direction by significant numbers of people for an
infinite amount of time starting now!
Critical decisions must be made –
On the one hand, the world has never offered more
opportunity for individual and collective
advancement. On the other hand, the world has never
had more potential for death and destruction from so
many sources, natural and man-made. While creating
opportunity, mankind neglected the basic laws of
sustained existence – Support Community and Respect
Environment. It is time for serious change!
Global problems require global
solutions – The problems we face are global and the
solutions must come through the collaboration of all
the citizens of the Global Community.
The 70+ Richmonds of the World
represent a Global Community Capable of Effecting
Serious Change through Collaboration!
Richmonds of the World is
actually 26 Years Old!
On May 24, 1981, Richmond,
Virginia and Richmond upon Thames, its namesake in
England, became Twin Cities. This twinning
relationship has grown to involve many diverse
elements of each community, including thet arts,
schools, business, government and sports to name a
few. 2007 brings the greatest set of exchanges yet
as Richmond and Virginia and Richmond upon Thames
and Great Britain commemorate the 400th Anniversary
of the English landing at Jamestown. The twinning
relationship between the wo communities has
benefited immensely by the common name, Richmond, as
people in each community have developed a fondness
for people and places in "the other Richmond".
Richmonds of the World offers an opportunity to
create the same sort of twinning relationship
between all Richmonds, sharing the many benefits
currently enjoyed by Richmond and Richmond upon
Thames.

eligible to be a Member of Richmonds of the World

1) Communication platform –
www.richmondsoftheworld.com – Under

2) Annual Convention of the
Richmonds of the World called A Garden of Richmonds
– 1st Convention is May 22-24, 2007 in Richmond,
Virginia – Start making plans
3) Meet each Richmond through
the Our Richmond Photography Project, offering a
glimpse into each Richmond through the eyes of its
youth – Fall 2007
4) Establish a collection of
community gardens in each Richmond, creating
connections between the Richmonds while
strengthening each individual Richmond community –

5) Increase the involvement of
the many elements of each Richmond Community:
